Merchant House Museum
In 1832, Joseph Brewster built a house on Fourth Street, and a few years later it was purchased by Seabury Tredwell.
The Tredwell family owned it for more than a century after, and in 1936, it was opened as a museum. Today, the brick and marble row house, which was once known as the Old Merchants House, is a U.S. National Historic Landmark and exemplifies old style New York.
Did we mention the Merchant House Museum is also rumored to be haunted?
Brooklyn Bridge Park
The 85-acre Brooklyn Bridge Park is set along 1.3-miles of the East River on the Brooklyn side, and it's for all those who enjoy beauty, fitness, and the arts.
It's there that you can go for a ride on the restored 1922 Jane's Carousel, frolic in the playground, play basketball and volleyball, go fishing, listen to music, browse art, and even more.
There's also dog runs for your four-legged friends. It's a wonderful way to get out and see some of the best the city has to offer, as well as meet many locals and tourists if you so desire.
There's numerous museums around NYC that many are quite familiar with, including MoMA, The Guggenheim, and the Museum of Natural History, but there's also the Museum of Sex for those who are interested in learning a little more about the sexual side of people and animals. As you can probably guess, the exhibits are risque, so be prepared. Located on Fifth Avenue, only adults who are 18+ are allowed to enter the museum. They have this amazing lust inducing perfume Etat Libre d'Orange, which makes a great gift for your significant other or your single friends.
Green Wood Cemetery

Located at 54 Pearl Street, you can enter the tavern / restaurant for free, but there's a very small admission fee to the museum unless you're under five-years-old or you're an active military member with a valid ID, in which case it's free.
